The below Dubai Ferry routes/timings information is accurate to the best of our knowledge. If in any doubt, please contact the RTA on 800 9090 for clarification on any of the trips shown.

Routes are occasionally changed and we will endeavour to keep these up to date.

Ferry Terminals

The Dubai Ferry currently runs from six ferry terminals: Dubai Marina, Bluewater Marine Transport Station, Al Ghubaiba, Dubai Canal Station, Sharjah Aquarium and Souk al Marfa.

The first two stations to operate were at Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina, with a terminal at Al Mamzar introduced in October 2014 – However, Al Mamzar no longer runs services due to lack of demand. The service also used to run along Dubai Water Canal to Al Jadaf but this has changed to a Water Taxi service.

The ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah was suspended after the 2020 pandemic but has now resumed and you can find full details of that service here.

Ferry services run 7 days a week.

The Al Ghubaiba terminal is a minutes walk from the Al Ghubaiba Metro station, near the creek abra stations.

The Marina terminal is a short walk (about 500 yards to the left) from outside the Marina Mall.

The Bluewater Marine Transport Station is on the island that holds the AIN Dubai ferris wheel, just off the marina.

Souk al Marfa is on Deira Islands.

There are circular tourist type trips that run for approximately 1 hour from each terminal and there are trips that run from one terminal to the other (which take around 1h 55m minutes for the trips between the Marina and Al Ghubaiba).

As there are sometimes changes to the schedule it is worth contacting the RTA in advance to check on sailing times.

Scheduled circular services (services that start and leave from the same station) will only run with at least 12 passengers. You can also privately hire the boats for your own trip at any available time between 9am and 9pm. Evening trips are busier so you may need to get to the terminal well in advance of the sailing (30 minutes or more).

Both circular routes run along the shore from the terminus with views of the coastline and the many local attractions, they run for one hour and then return from the place they started from. In this way they are really just excursions rather than a means to actually get anywhere within Dubai.

This is the tourist route covered by the Dubai Marina ferry which runs at 11.30am:

    1. Hi the 50 aed ticket is for one way ? Do we have to buy another to come back ? Asking for (ghubaiba to Dubai marina ) and ghubaiba to Sharjah

      1. Yes it is 50 dirhams one way between Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina so you need to buy another ticket to come back. The Sharjah ferry is not currently running.

  1. I want to use Emirates NBD debit card ferry offer. As per bank website, free ferry ride available 3rd and 4th saturday of every month at 2:30pm. However, there is no route on your webiste for this route. Please confirm the route timing for free ride on saturday through Emirates debit card.

    1. Hi, as we understand it this is a special trip for Emirates NBD card holders. Please check with either them or the RTA on 800 9090 to ensure it is running before travelling.

  2. (1) Which is the best ORIGINATING and DESTINATION ferry stations to take and
    (2) Which timing is most popular ?

    1. Today at 1.00 ferry go out without us – the last customers. We was on the ferry point, and ticket master can’t print our tickets , after we paid! No one can’t help us. Just said : “we deside your problem and change tickets for tomorrow or return money (2adults and 2 kids) , just wait a call from us till the day. ” And what? Nobody calls !!! This is the worst service I ever seen in the world!!!!!!! This is no service from city of future, this is service from city of past!!!!!!!! 2022 year, common Dubai!

  3. Hello!
Starting my trip from Marina 1 pm to Water canal station. Can I continue my trip from Water canal station to Burj Plaza station, to al Jadaf?
There was Dubai water bus service a few years ago? Do you know is it in service now?
    What are the timings?
    Thank you

    1. Hi, the ferry has stopped running in the creek for some reason. You may be able to get a water taxi to Al Jadaf but it is best to call the RTA on 800 9090 to check and book.

  4. I’m looking to go from Al Wajeha Al Maeyah Marine Transport Station to the Dubai Marina. Are those connected by Ferry? And if so, what times do they go?

    1. Sorry for the delay in replying. There used to be a ferry service running along the creek but as far as we are aware it is no longer running – you could call the RTA on 800 9090 to clarify.

      1. “In addition there is a ferry running from Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Marina Ferry terminal at 11am”
Is it true in January 2022?

        1. Hi, no, please check the blue table for current trips – this is updated most often. I have amended the text about the 11am trip thanks.

  5. Hello, looking for a circular route from Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Marina , that would cover going around the Palm and to Burj Arab. What time should I look at?

    Thank you

    1. The route from Marina to Al Ghubaiba and vice versa does not go around the Palm, rather ‘under’ it. Timings are shown above. It is not circular but you can take a return trip.

  6. Ferry service started again after Covid-19 restriction? or if not when they going to start? please confirm,
    from Al Ghubaiba and Marina

  7. I’m writing this comment very sadly. The Trip from Marina mall to Dubai mall is not in service now. Please update in Ferry website.

  8. Hello. Is One way trip from Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Marina with a stop at Dubai Water Canal always going around Atlantis?

    1. Yes there is a large car park under the Sheikh Zayed Road bridge. There are also other car parks along the canal.

  9. Hallo, ich möchte gern von Marina Mall nach Aj Jadaf mit der
Fähre fahren. Wie geht das und wie lange würde das dauern.
    Vielen Dank

    1. Hi, you will need to change at Dubai Water Canal to travel from Dubai Marina to Al Jadaf – check all of the timings to see how long it will take depending on which trip you choose.

  10. Hi,

Does the FR1 route from Al Ghubhaiba to Canal Station to Marina Mall goes around the top of Palm and Atlantis or under the Palm? I’m looking for a route which goes around Palm and atlantis other than the FR4 circular route
