Buying Tickets

You can buy your Dubai Ferry Tickets at the ferry terminus (each one has its own ticket office right next to where the ferry departs) and they can be paid for by either cash, debit or credit card or Nol card. Your Nol card will need to be charged up with the full fare beforehand.

You can also buy tickets from the RTA website.

The tourist trips run for around an hour so this is a quite good value for a tour of the Dubai coastline.

There are also two spaces available for wheelchair users in the silver class area of the ferry.

The Dubai Ferry is also available for private hire – contact the RTA on 800 9090 for further information.

  1. The map is basically useless, since there is no option to enlarge it for viewing. After reading ALL of the information, we still DO NOT know how to take the entire routing to all the stops. Gave up in frustration & booked the Yellow Boat tour for our group of 12.

    1. Hi again Roberta, the routes are indeed all shown on the routes page – this lists all of the stops on both routes (there is only one stop on the Marina to Al Ghubaiba route) so I am not sure what additional information you require. To take the entire route on the Water Canal you go from Dubai Water Canal Station to Al Jadaf or vice versa, stopping at the stops shown on the routes page. The other circular tours do not stop anywhere. Enjoy the yellow boat tour, it looks like fun.

  2. Hello,

What is the last time that I can take the ferry for a whole tourist trip – from Dubai marina back to Dubai marina?

    thanks 🙂

      1. Would be nice if you “factually ANSWERED” the question posed, rather than continually refer “customers” to the routes page. Also — IMPOSSIBLE to reach the map, since there are no options to ENLARGE the view.

        1. Hi Roberta, the reason that I refer people to the routes page is because, firstly, the information is on there so there is no point me repeatedly typing it out, but secondly, and more importantly, if I post current information in the comments, this information will subsequently become out of date but may still be picked up on by some people, so by referring people to the current information they don’t get the wrong info.
Also, you can click on the image of the map and it opens up to an image sized 1359 x 659 pixels, I’m not sure anything larger than that is needed or could be shown on a screen.

  3. Hi – what are the Ramadan timings for Dubai Canal ferry services from Sh. Zayed station ?

  4. I want to travel from Dubai Canal ferry terminal to Al Jaddaf, on Monday. Please confirm the time. Is it 2.05 from Dubai Canal ferry terminal? Can I buy my ticket there?

    1. Yes it is scheduled to leave at that time. You can buy your ticket at the Dubai Water Canal marine station.

    1. Hi syamlal – all of the routes and timings are shown on this page and ticket prices are shown above according to the route you choose (children over 5 pay full price).

        1. I don’t have any information on family tickets available right now. Children under 5 do travel free though.

  6. Hi. I Am A Resident in Dubai. Just Wanted to ask which ride is useful for 1 Child,(Child age = 10)2 Women. Also One more Question. Should I Use Silver Nol Card For The Abra?

  7. Hello, just visited Dubai and all your web pages were very helpful.

I took both ferries. The Marina to Old Town one was full of loud and some rude tourists, and the crew didn’t talk to any passengers (not that you’d expect them to). The views were good along the Marina, around the Palm, looking at the Burj al-Arab, and in the Creek, but the rest of the time it was too far from the coastline to see very much.

That photo you have of the outside area on the ferry is a bit misleading as you aren’t allowed to sit there!

The canal one was more like a private boat with only 5 passengers, and the crew were friendly and chatty. The problem was that you can’t look forwards as you aren’t allowed on the front, and when standing outside at the back, you have to keep walking from one side to the other if you want to look at all the buildings on either bank of the canal.

Also your Abra website should be updated as the Festival City abra does not accept cash but Nol card only. And although the standard 1-dirham abras supposedly run 24-hours or from 5am-midnight, in practice if you turn up very early in the morning (I tried at 6.30) they wouldn’t go unless you pay 20 dirhams or wait 30 mins for enough people to fill them up…

However later in the day, I took the Al Ghubaiba-Baniyas abra for 2 dirhams (on Nol), and got a “private” ride along the creek. Then saw the same guy trying to get some clueless tourists to pay him 25 dirhams each for the same “private” trip.

Finally, I found the Nol system slightly anti-tourist as if you want to take the metro and the abras, you are forced to buy a red card for the 1-day pass and a silver card for the abras.

    1. Hi John, thanks that is all really useful information as I don’t get out to check on all of the trips very often!

  8. Hello,

I would want to travel from dubai marina all the way to atlantis, burj al arab and the dubai canal…
What trip would you recommend??? And where do i start from to get most of the views of the dubai timeline???

    1. You can’t do all of those things in one trip. You can get from the marina to the canal which goes past Burj al Arab and then change at the canal station to go down there. check out the routes page for all the info.

  9. Hi, I am looking to do the Marina to Burj Al Arab trip, however wanted to understand if it passes by Atlantis or I have to take the separate trip of marina to Atlantis?

    1. The Burj al Arab trip goes ‘under’ the palm so you only get a distant view of Atlantis. If you want to get a close up view you need to take the Atlantis trip.

  10. I am looking to do a tour out to Atlantis the palm to get some photos. I will have a passenger in a wheel chair. Can you recommend any tours

I am staying in Grand Hyatt Dubai hotel. I see the 5pm tour is good for photos of Atlantis. I was going to take a ferry from creek to marina and one back after the 5pm ride. Can you recommend Best way to
    So this.

    We are coming middle march

    1. Yes you could get the 11.30am or the 1pm to the Marina then get the 5pm round trip. You could then get the 6.30pm back although that might be a bit tight on time.

        1. Hi Ryan, the trips that go to the water canal from the marina and end up at Al Ghubaiba go under the palm rather than over it.

  11. Can I book advance tickets for Dubai Ferry for 31 December 2017 for viewing fireworks. Kindly let me know from where I can book.

  12. Hi, is it possible to have more informations about new year eve? A good view of Burj Khalifa fireworks?
    Thanks and regards
