The below Dubai Ferry routes/timings information is accurate to the best of our knowledge. If in any doubt, please contact the RTA on 800 9090 for clarification on any of the trips shown.
Routes are occasionally changed and we will endeavour to keep these up to date.
Ferry Terminals
The Dubai Ferry currently runs from six ferry terminals: Dubai Marina, Bluewater Marine Transport Station, Al Ghubaiba, Dubai Canal Station, Sharjah Aquarium and Souk al Marfa.
The first two stations to operate were at Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina, with a terminal at Al Mamzar introduced in October 2014 – However, Al Mamzar no longer runs services due to lack of demand. The service also used to run along Dubai Water Canal to Al Jadaf but this has changed to a Water Taxi service.
The ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah was suspended after the 2020 pandemic but has now resumed and you can find full details of that service here.
Ferry services run 7 days a week.
The Al Ghubaiba terminal is a minutes walk from the Al Ghubaiba Metro station, near the creek abra stations.
The Marina terminal is a short walk (about 500 yards to the left) from outside the Marina Mall.
The Bluewater Marine Transport Station is on the island that holds the AIN Dubai ferris wheel, just off the marina.
Souk al Marfa is on Deira Islands.
There are circular tourist type trips that run for approximately 1 hour from each terminal and there are trips that run from one terminal to the other (which take around 1h 55m minutes for the trips between the Marina and Al Ghubaiba).
As there are sometimes changes to the schedule it is worth contacting the RTA in advance to check on sailing times.

Scheduled circular services (services that start and leave from the same station) will only run with at least 12 passengers. You can also privately hire the boats for your own trip at any available time between 9am and 9pm. Evening trips are busier so you may need to get to the terminal well in advance of the sailing (30 minutes or more).
Both circular routes run along the shore from the terminus with views of the coastline and the many local attractions, they run for one hour and then return from the place they started from. In this way they are really just excursions rather than a means to actually get anywhere within Dubai.
Dubai Marina
This is the tourist route covered by the Dubai Marina ferry which runs at 11.30am:
There is also a route running from Dubai Marina and out to the Burj al Arab for 60-90 minutes at 4.30pm. Trips may change – see table above for current trips available.
In addition you can travel at 1pm and 6pm from Dubai Marina to Al Ghubaiba. This stops at Dubai Canal Station and BlueWaters en route.
Al Ghubaiba
The route covered by the Al Ghubaiba ferry for the circular trip at 4.30pm is shown below. However, note that the route may be subject to change. There is a 3pm circular trip that previously ran within Dubai Creek – check with the RTA for the current route.
In addition there is a ferry running from Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Marina Ferry terminal at 1pm and 6pm. This stops at Dubai Canal Station and BlueWaters en route.
Souk al Marfa
In March 2022 a new ferry route was launched to Souk al Marfa on Dubai Islands. It ran from 6pm to 10pm on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. However, this trip no longer runs and marine access to Souk al Marfa is now just by abra.
Ticket Prices
Ticket prices are shown here.
The Dubai Ferry can be hired for private trips with no seats so that guests can mingle. It costs 2800 dirhams per hour (prices may change).
My parents are coming for a week and I want to take them on a tour of the dubai canal.
Where should I start from and where can i find the tickets? Also is there any walking involved as my mother cannot walk that much.
One last question do these boats/ferries have bathrooms?
Thank you for listening.
Hi, it depends on how long a trip you want as to where you start from. If you want to do the whole canal then start from either Dubai Water Canal Station or Al Jadaf. To do a return trip will take quite a while though and there is generally some walking from wherever you park. Yes there are bathrooms on the ferries.
Thank you for the reply, can we get in on one station, drop at the other and get a return fairy to Al jadaf?
Also what is the travel time between Al jadaf and the next station.
Thanks
You can go to whichever stop you choose. All of the timings are shown above, there are not that many trips so you may need to work out if you can get a return trip with the timings you have chosen.
Hi, I am visiting Dubai, and on 10th march I want to travel from Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Marina by water taxi at 11.
How far is the monorail station / tram station from Dubai Marina.
Also, do we have to walk a lot at the ferry stations as I have my mother who can walk just 100~200 meters only.
You will need to walk around 500 metres to get from the ferry station to the tram stop. You need to go through the Marina Mall and then the tram station is out the front. check out this map https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HoQjfthbbKlb0J4uZwBB77V0Ay8&usp=sharing.
If you can get to the ferry station by taxi say then you should not have too far to walk but it will be a few hundred metres possibly depending where the taxi can drop you.

Hi
Looking to go on a short ride (about 30mins) tomorrow morning (Thursday) around Business Bay as my 2yr old loves boats. Is it possible to do a short ride and where can I start the trip?
Sorry, probably too late but you could take a short trip on the ferry for a couple of stops from Business Bay.
Hi, how can I book a 3 pm round trip from marina to burj Al arab? I understand we need to be 10 person so it can be confirmed, and we are only 2, but please let me know how we can book. Thanks.
You can’t actually book until you get there are you can only buy tickets on the spot.
HI, whats the best way to get from Anantara Hotel Dubai to the marina or the malls? Is there a water taxi station near to the hotel? Cheers
The water taxi only goes from Atlantis on the Palm so perhaps the hotel runs a shuttle service to there, or else you could get the palm monorail to link in with other types of public transport (again from Atlantis).
Will the one way trip from Dubai Marina to Al Ghubaiba be running Feb. 8 or 9th at 11am or 1pm? I’ve been to the Marina on Feb. 5th & 6th and according to the ticket agent the trips were not running. Anyway to find out if they are definitely running on the day without a special trip to the Marina? Thanks.
I’m afraid there is no way to tell until you get there as they need a minimum number of 10 people to run the trip, so the only way to make sure is to go with 9 friends 🙂
hello, does the ferry still run from dubai marina to near the old town at 5pm
All ferries are running as per the details above. One way trip runs at 6.30pm
Is it possible to take a puschair on board the ferry from design district to the canal station and then on to dubai marina?
Yes it is.
Where in the marina do you meet the boat for the 5:00pm tour?
Check out the maps page for the exact location of the marina Ferry station.
Please, would you explain us or (better) show on a map the route for this trip :
3pm Circular Tourist trips:
Dubai Marina to Burj al Arab
Thank you
Instead of going up to Atlantis (as per the route map for the Atlantis trip) it hugs the shoreline and goes under the Palm towards the Burj al Arab.
I am interested in taking a round trip from business bay area from under the waterfall for a round trip for max an hour..pls guide me about timings, exact location and prices and whether round trips is possible without switching boats…
Hi, all of the ferry timings are shown in the table above, please check those out.
Can the Jaddaf ferry Station be reached by Dubai metro? How far is the Jaddaf and/ or Creek Metro station?
Check out this map for the location of the abra stop which should give you a good idea:
From the website, I can see that one ferry leaves at 17.30 hours from Al Jadaf to Dubai Canal Station. I understand there is no return trip. So I need to use public transport to reach Jaddaf area. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.
No, there is a return trip that leaves Dubai Canal Station at 1935.
The metro is easy to use for return trips. Tickets can be purchased at all stations or buy a multi use Nol card that can also be used on all Dubai busses, Dubai Tram & water bus
Hi,
My daughter and her friends, all aged 17 to 18, would like to have a ferry ride as part of their school farewell dinner from 7pm for an hour. They are in 30 in numbers. Kindly let know if they are allowed alone due to their age (less than 18) and if so the charges related to the ride. Please advise. Thanks, Venkat
Hi Venkat, there is no ferry service at 7pm so they may be better off seeking other options (maybe a boat from the creek?).
Hi, would to know is possible to have round trip from dubai marina station, going to the creek and back to dubai marina
They only run the trips shown above at present.
